Sara Langel, Executive Director
Sara was born in Carroll and raised on the family farm east of Templeton. From riding in the tractors and helping feed livestock (cattle, pigs, and chickens) to driving the tractors now today, all four of the Langel siblings are back in to the family farm operation in some way.
Graduating from Kuemper Catholic High School, Sara continued her education at the University of South Dakota where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences and a minor in Public Health, while working at New Hope in the ICF Campus Homes. Following college graduation, Sara moved back to Dedham, Iowa where she resided for three years continuing employment at New Hope, prior to moving back to Templeton where she currently resides. Sara began her career at Addington Place of Carroll in February 2021 as the Life Enrichment Coordinator, transitioning to the Lead Care Manager role in July 2022, the Business Office Manager role in May 2024, and more recently the Executive Director.
In Sara's free time, you can find her cooking, gardening, working on a puzzle, playing tennis, working at the farm, or spending time with family and friends. From a young age, Sara has always gone out of her way wanting to help the senior population in any way she could, never anticipating to be where I am today. I am forever grateful for each and every one of the seniors that come in to our loving community as each one brings unique characteristics to the table; not to mention the things you can learn from this generation.
